Meet one and half-year-old William and his beautiful mother Briar. William is the picture of bubbly happiness. Like most children, William was very shy when he first arrived at his session. In fact, he didn’t move for a solid couple minutes! But after the shock of his new surroundings wore off, he was ready to play and he loosened up beautifully. William has been breastfed his entire life and when he was ready to take a break, we were able to capture a few precious moments between mother and son.
During the session, William was ready to make everyone laugh with his silly antics. To help coax out natural smiles, we played games and let nature take its course with the ducklings. When ducklings are young they have a tendency to play “follow the leader”, so they will actually follow around children.
Location and Timing
Tucson Arizona is the home of beautiful springtime weather. The golden hues that happen just around the famous “golden hour” are to die for. Golden hour is the time of day when the sun is just beginning to set and everything is kissed with a soft sunlit glow. It’s flattering for everyone and it creates an especially dynamic backlit glow against hair. For children with hair as curly as William’s, it creates an incredible explosion of color and light. The natural surroundings of the Marana area we chose allowed for William to explore and play while I carefully framed the location to only reveal the pretty parts of the area 🙂 Sometimes, the most beautiful locations are in places you might not expect!
