The Fork Family – Tucson AZ
I LOVE working with families that are down to earth. Especially when working with young kiddos, my best tip for a great session is to lose all expectations and to let your kiddos play! And that’s exactly what the Fork family did.
By keeping things fun and loose, families are able to connect more naturally than they would if there was a heavy focus on posing. This type of session also works well for kids with shorter attention spans, because it gives me the freedom to play with them and elicit natural reactions. Whether I am chasing them or encouraging them to jump to the moon, kids quickly lose any apprehension and they maintain their interest for longer periods of time. Although I will pull them aside for a quick “pose” or two, it’s balanced heavily with games and play to even things out.
I seriously can’t stress enough how deeply I LOVE when families let loose and play together. I consider it a session “win” when I can tell that clients have completely forgotten that I am there because they are so busy engaging in one another.
Working with the Fork family reminded me just why I love working with families. The love that they have for one another is so tangible that you can feel it through these images. And honestly, what is the point of going through the effort to take family photos if not to have a permanent record of that love?
